Posen Foundation grants scholarships for Judaism research

The Posen Foundation began this week to distribute scholarships totaling $300,000 to seven Israeli scholars whose research pertains to “Judaism as culture” and trends of secularization in the Jewish culture.
Journalist and author Dov Elboim will be one of the grant's recipients, for his research proposal on the place of the Bible in the secular education systems in Israel.
Britain-based philanthropist Felix Posen is behind the foundation which promotes secular Jewish thought and culture through programs in more than three-dozen institutions of higher education in the US and Israel, and is a main supporter of the International Center for the Study of Anti-Semitism at the Hebrew University.
