Rabbi Lior, Tkuma rabbis back Bennett’s pact with Yesh Atid

Rabbi Dov Lior, one of the rabbinic figures behind the national-religious Tkuma party – a constituent of Bayit Yehudi - sent a letter to MKs Naftali Bennett and Uri Ariel on Sunday expressing his support for their alliance with Yesh Atid.
“Following the updates we received from you and despite all the media hysteria, we strengthen your hand [support] the path which you are [both] taking for the preservation of the Torah world and the settlement of the Land of Israel, in cooperation with Yair Lapid and the Yesh Atid party,” the letter read.
The missive was signed “the Tkuma rabbis,” including rabbis Dov Lior, Haim Shteiner, Isser Kalonsky and David Hai Hacohen.
Tkuma is a hard-right party, associated with the more conservative wing of the national religious movement. It merged into the Bayit Yehudi electoral list for the general elections in January and boasts four MKs in the Knesset faction, including the number two on the electoral list and Tkuma party chairman Uri Ariel.
