Report: Comptroller joins Netanyahu fundraising probe

State Comptroller Joseph Shapira has joined the police in investigating whether Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu broke any fundraising laws in raising money abroad for his election campaigns since 2009, Channel 1 reported Tuesday. Shapira's involvement came from his team probing Netanyahu's trips abroad in the so-called Bibitours case. Investigators who probed household expenses in Netanyahu's official residence will also be involved in the probe. The investigators are reportedly checking whether Netanyahu received and did not report donations that were used for negative campaign advertisements.
