Report: Turkey, Iran intend to extend bilateral relations

Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan has called for extended bilateral relations between Iran and Turkey, Iranian Press TV reported on Tuesday.
During a phone call initiated by the Turkish premier to congratulate newly-inaugurated Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on his victory, the latter, for his part, also said his new administration intended to develop increased cooperation between the two nations.
Rouhani also empathized the need to restore peace to the region, stating that cooperation between Iran and Turkey would be effective for reaching the objective.
“We should all make efforts to establish peace, stability and tranquility in the region,” Press TV quoted Rouhani as saying.
