Rocket fuzes stolen from Bulgarian-bound train

BUCHAREST - More than 60 artillery rocket fuzes were stolen from a Romanian train carrying military equipment to neighboring European Union member Bulgaria over the weekend, officials said on Monday.
In a statement, Romania's general prosecutor's office said workers at the Giurgiu railway station on the border with Bulgaria found broken seals on Saturday at one of the carriages of the 27-car train, and alerted the police.
"The train was stopped at the Giurgiu checkpoint and was about to begin customs clearance," it said. "They found four missing boxes containing fuzes."
Ministry spokesman Marius Militaru said the train -- which was loaded at a military plant in central Romania in the Carpathian mountains -- was guarded by 10 Romanian riot police.
