Russian general: Stalin prevented assassination of Hitler

Russian news agency, RIA reports that retired General, Anatoly Kulikov, told a conference of military historians in Moscow on Tuesday, that in 1943 and 1944 Stalin twice canceled plans to kill Hitler, that had a genuine chance of success. 
The general said that an assassin had infiltrated Hitler's entourage, however Stalin feared that in the event of Hitler being killed, the new German leadership would seek a separate peace with the west.
