TA court rejects revised indictment in Aharonson hit-and-run case

The Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court on Wednesday refused to authorize a revised indictment against two men suspected of killing Meital Aharonson in an October 2008 hit-and-run accident on the city's Ibn Gvirol Street. The charge sheet had been revised to state that it was Shai Simon who drove the car when it struck Aharonson, after initially stating it had been Shalom Yemini; however Judge Zvi Gorfinkel ruled Wednesday that the trial would continue as planned. Simon and Yemini were speeding in the jeep that struck and killed Aharonson. Her friend, Meli Hame'iri-Yazdi, was also hit and suffered serious injuries.
