Technion to offer inaugural Russian-language program

The Technion will be launching a new engineering and science program in Russian next September, for the first time in the institution’s history.
During their first year, students will study entirely in Russian but will also be required to take an intensive Hebrew course. In their second year, they will start studying in Hebrew.
The program, which is based on a similar existing English study track, is designed to attract outstanding high school graduates from the Former Soviet Union to study in Israel. For this purpose, the Technion partnered with Nativ, a network of Israeli cultural centers worldwide.
The project is also supported by  MASA, a joint initiative of the Israeli government and the Jewish Agency which allows young Diaspora Jews to experience Israel.
