Muhammad al-Jabur, the truck driver arrested in the deaths offive family members Monday as a result of a road accident, was remanded untilThursday.

Al-Jabur said that he swerved into the opposite traffic lanebecause the overhead glove compartment suddenly popped open and hit him in thehead, distracting him from the road.However, police suspect that the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel orwas speeding.
