El Al, Israel's national air carrier, operated two flights last week to bring back to Israel reservists who had received Order 8, as well as individuals whose arrival in the country is deemed essential.

The flights were operated at cost price, with joint financing from El Al and major financial institutions in the United States.

El Al: Not on Saturday - until now

Since 1982, El Al has refrained from operating flights on Saturdays, but in light of the current circumstances, the airline obtained the necessary halachic approvals to carry out these flights. The operations were conducted in coordination with the Ministry of Transport and with the approval of the Ministry of Defense.

El Al stated, "We are committed to preserving the air bridge to and from the State of Israel and ensuring the return of as many Israelis as possible. We will continue this vital mission as long as necessary."
