The Neot Ariel Sharon neighborhood, better known as the "Umami" neighborhood, has in recent years become the new urban gem of Kiryat Ono. The neighborhood, located south of Bar-Ilan University and northwest of the new Krinitzi neighborhood and the Azar Village, attracts hundreds of families looking for an urban quality of life without compromising on community, education, and accessibility.
The municipality appears to have designated the neighborhood as a central growth engine and is investing heavily in it. Michal Rozenshtein, mayor of Kiryat Ono, emphasizes the integrative approach guiding the neighborhood's development:
"Neot Ariel Sharon is expected to feature a unique combination of residential living alongside entertainment and leisure, and later also diverse commerce (some parts are in various planning stages). The neighborhood has excellent educational institutions, which were among the first to be established here. Residents receive and will continue to receive comprehensive services, in addition to great accessibility and location."
Indeed, alongside modern residential buildings, municipal schools and kindergartens have opened in the neighborhood, and a new community center, recently inaugurated, offers classes, leisure activities, and events for the whole family. Momentum is also evident in the recreation and leisure sector - in May, a large park was inaugurated in the neighborhood, established with a municipal investment of approximately NIS 11 million.
The park includes modern playground equipment, fitness areas, a dog park, shaded zones with hundreds of trees, lawns with seating areas, and a coffee cart operating on weekends - a vibrant community hub that nearby families already frequent.
A Mini-City Within the City
Advanced infrastructure is also on the horizon. For example, a convenience store is planned near the water tower, a commercial center in the Umami complex, and an additional cluster of kindergartens with upper floors - likely for health services. All these will strengthen the neighborhood’s independence as a full urban space.
But perhaps the greatest advantage of the neighborhood lies in its exceptional transportation accessibility - something not found in any other neighborhood in Kiryat Ono. While adjacent to Bar-Ilan University and main traffic arteries, the neighborhood will soon benefit from the Purple Line of the light rail - a strategic line by NTA, expected to transform the entire region's transportation map.
Additionally, a new exit from the neighborhood via Azar Village is planned - a move that will significantly ease traffic congestion and end the typical 40-minute exit time experienced by other city residents.
In summary, Neot Ariel Sharon is not just another real estate project - it is an urban vision becoming reality. It embodies everything a young family seeks: community, education, transportation, leisure, a green routine, and urban accessibility. The best part? It all already exists, and at this pace - there’s more to come.
