South Korean shares have fallen sharply in early trading after another plunge in US stocks amid the global financial crisis. The Korea Composite Stock Price Index fell 79.41 points, or 5.9 percent, to 1,260.87 after an hour of trading. At one point, the Kospi fell as much as 6.9 percent before paring losses. Overnight on Wall Street, the Dow Jones industrial average fell 733 points, or 7.87 percent, to 8,577.91, its second-largest point loss ever, on investor worries over a faltering US economy.
