Israeli ties of US high-fliers

Former US ambassador to Israel Daniel Kurtzer is not the first US official to boast a relative who has made aliya or spent significant time in Israel. Another former US ambassador to Israel, Martin Indyk, also reportedly has cousins and perhaps an aunt and uncle in the Holy Land. Sarah Abrams, daughter of Senior Director for Democracy, Human Rights, and International Operations at the National Security Council Elliott Abrams, is wrapping up her one-year master's degree at Hebrew University this summer. His son, Joey, completed the same program last year. World Bank President and former deputy secretary of defense Paul Wolfowitz has a sister living in Jerusalem, and former undersecretary of defense Dov Zakheim's son Reuven spent two years studying at the hesder yeshiva Sha'alvim in their American program.
