Domino’s Pizza’s summer move is indeed branded as such – hot season, light launch – but it managed to intrigue us far beyond questions of temperatures and lightness.
This is the Crispy Pizza (NIS 72.90 for a tray, NIS 58.30 for pick-up from the branch with an online order, or as part of a meal for NIS 99.20–124), which uses a new dough, a new cutting method, and an entirely new experience that resembles more of an entry into the world of tortillas than the usual contents and trays of the company.
The Crispy, which is already making a career in several other civilized countries, arrives divided into square-diamonds and can certainly be placed naturally at viewing parties and large gatherings. It is crispy as promised and somehow manages to carry the whole combination of sauce and cheese (and even toppings, with Domino’s recommending two and no more), but it does require setting expectations. A little less pizza by definition, perhaps, but still a total sweep of the tray. Who are we to complain?
