Despite security uncertainties, Portugal’s national airline, TAP Air Portugal, is moving forward with plans to expand its operations in Israel and has announced the launch of another direct flight to Tel Aviv—this time from the northern city of Porto. This follows last month’s announcement about the resumption of the Lisbon–Tel Aviv route.

The new route, expected to launch subject to regulatory approvals, is planned to begin at the end of October 2026, with four weekly flights. The flights will operate on Airbus A320neo aircraft, with a flight time of approximately six hours from Tel Aviv to Porto and about five and a half hours on the return leg.

According to the scheduled timetable, departures from Tel Aviv will take place in the early morning hours, while flights from Porto to Israel will depart in the evening and arrive in Israel early the next morning.

A check on the airline’s website shows that launch fares are around $480 for a round-trip ticket, including checked baggage. Passengers who opt for a lower-priced fare with hand luggage only can find prices starting at under $400.
