The history of the smartphone market proves time and again that the design trends dictated by Apple quickly become the standard across the entire industry. Now, it seems that competing manufacturers are not even waiting for the official announcement from the technology giant from Cupertino before starting to replicate the next look. According to a leak from the well-known tipster Digital Chat Station, several Android manufacturers are already in advanced testing stages of a deep red shade (Deep Red), the color expected to be the highlight of the iPhone 18 Pro series.
Apple’s choice of the “hero color” of each new model directly affects the global production line. Just last year, the company introduced the “Cosmic Orange” color in the iPhone 17 Pro series, and very quickly we saw similar shades appearing in many Android devices. A prominent example of this is the Oppo Find N6 that was recently launched, and even the Find X9 Ultra that is expected to arrive on the market soon has already received official confirmation that it will be offered in an orange version.
The attempt to ride on the popularity of the iPhone does not stop with expensive flagship devices. Industry estimates suggest that once the iPhone 18 Pro is officially launched this coming September with the new red shade, we will see a flood of mid-range and budget devices adopting similar finishes. For Chinese manufacturers, this is a consistent strategy aimed at giving consumers a premium feel associated with the American brand, without waiting for the design processing of future generations.
