After a brilliant campaign to bring back beloved flavors from the past (including an online selection from the flavor graveyard of those removed from the shelf), the ice cream giant Ben & Jerry's is driving fans crazy once again, and this time – with a new ice cream cone. And not just any cone, but one that takes one of the beloved flavors and turns it into an ice cream with attractive crispy qualities, which can be eaten while walking and not just from a plump pint.
The new cone is dedicated to Toffee Crunch, a popular flavor in Israel, which is receiving its own cone for the first time, and after reading the technical specifications, it is impossible not to want to pounce.
At the base of the cone is a crispy wafer sleeve, and inside it is vanilla flavored cream ice cream with crunchy toffee pieces coated in chocolate fudge. Surrounding all this goodness is a thin chocolate layer that adds an additional crunch to the bite. On the face of it – a midsummer night's dream, but is it also a success story in the cone version?
50 shades of crunch
The answer is yes. In fact, very much yes, and perhaps even more than the ice cream itself. The cream ice cream is soft, creamy, and delicate. The toffee crunch pieces are large, generous in quantity, and provide a bite full of sweet fragments that pop in the mouth with happiness, and the wafer oh the wafer – crunchy and fresh and thick enough to hold the rich ice cream without collapsing into itself.
The new cone will be sold in a pack containing 4 units and its price is NIS 27.90, about NIS 7 per cone which provides a nice amount of happiness and calories in every bite.
