Three alleged Labour members arrested on antisemitism charges

The investigation was launched after the Met Commissioner was handed a dossier detailing the acts following a radio interview with LBC Radio last September.

The Metropolitan Police arrested three people in March for inciting to antisemitism, all of whom were reportedly Labour members during the time the allegations were made.
The investigation was launched after the Met Commissioner was handed a dossier detailing the acts following a radio interview with LBC Radio last September.
According to Scotland Yard, the contents of the dossier were examined by special officers after which a criminal investigation into these individuals was launched, leading to the arrest of three, two men in their 50s and one woman in her 70s.
The arrests were made on separate occasions during March. All three suspects were arrested on the suspicion of publishing or distributing material likely to stir up racial hatred, were investigated under caution and subsequently released under investigation.
The Metropolitan Police wrote that it will not release any more information on the on-going investigation, but the Guardian, who first broke the story, wrote on Thursday that the individuals in question were all Labour members or suspended from the party at the time the complaint was made, yet no longer serve as party members.
The report also said that the dossier was a collection of social media messages posted by these individuals and contained antisemitic content.
A Labour party spokesman told the Guardian the party welcomes "the police investigating these individuals’ alleged crimes. Antisemitism has no place in our society and we are committed to challenging and campaigning against it in all its forms.”
