Education Minister Naftali Bennett spoke at the Yad Vashem International Holocaust Memorial Day commemorations on Thursday, saying that "the Jewish lesson of the Holocaust is that the Jews and the State of Israel will defend ourselves by ourselves."
"We expect our friends to stand with Israel," he continued.
Bennett spoke on the recent rise in antisemitic attacks worldwide, explaining that there is a new type of antisemitism that attacks Israel rather than Jews.
He also told the ambassadors present that, as a lesson from the Holocaust, "everyone must call out evil and stand up for the weak, wherever they are."
"We should never single anyone out because of the color of their skin their race, or their beliefs," he continued.
"We will never forget."
