Exhibition mocking Iranian human rights abuses to kick off in Brussels
The exhibition was created as a forceful response to the controversial International Holocaust Cartoon Competition which takes place annually in Iran.

Not ones to take Jewish hate lying down, Israeli artists are fighting against the growing antisemitism festering in Iran.The Israeli Cartoon Project, established in partnership by the American Jewish Committee, will display a series of caricature’s lampooning antisemitism and human right hypocrisies evident in the current Iranian regime.The exhibition was created as a forceful response to the controversial International Holocaust Cartoon Competition that takes place annually in Iran.Yesh Atid chairman Yair Lapid will launch the exhibition next to the European Parliament in Brussels on Wednesday, which will display pieces from 20 of the country’s best artists.Work from artists like Shai Charka, Uri Fink and Guy Morad will “discuss the violation of human rights by Iran around the world, the violation of freedom of expression, oppression of minorities and the LGBT community, executions,” the AJC said.“The promotion of human rights throughout the world is a central value for us as Jews, so we this exhibition in the European capital to raise awareness on the issues of blatant human rights violations in Iran,” said Avital Leibovich, AJC in Israel director. “Since the issue of human rights is frequently on the EU agenda, it is also appropriate to discuss the violations of brutality in Iran.”
