Hatnua MK Meir Sheetrit threw his hat into the presidential race on Monday. The former finance minister said at Hatnua's weekly faction meeting that he is "more experienced than anyone else running."Sheetrit will have to be endorsed by 10 MKs in order to officially be a candidate to replace President Shimon Peres. Labor MK Binyamin Ben-Eliezer became the first candidate to receive the 10 endorsements last week.Hatnua leader Tzipi Livni said that the whole faction would be giving their signatures to Sheetrit. Livni said that Sheetrit could represent Israel abroad as someone who became a social leader at a young age, locally and then nationally."We shouldn't think about which party is biggest and can vote for him, its about who's good for the job," she stated.
