The perfect right Etrog, Hebrew for the citron fruit, is not hard to find, though it must have very specific features.Ahead of Succot, markets have opened up in different cities across Israel, with stands selling each of the four species, the Arba Minim in Hebrew, that are used in prayer services during the holiday.The species are the Lulav, a palm branch; the Arava, a willow branch; the Hadas, a myrtle branch; and of course the Etrog, a citron fruit.This week, The Jerusalem Post set out to Jerusalem’s Four Species market in the Mahne Yehuda area, to find out what it is that people look for when searching for the best four species for their Succot celebration.
