The Israel Ireland Friendship League will celebrate Ireland's national day on Sunday, March 18, with a "Festigael Cumalye" evening of Irish music and dance performed by Israelis St. Patrick's Day this year falls on Shabbat, so the Israel Ireland Friendship League will celebrate Ireland's national day on Sunday, March 18, with a "Festigael Cumalye" evening of Irish music and dance performed by Israelis at the festive marquee alongside Murphy's Irish Pub in the Herzliya Pituah marina. As part of the ongoing 'Paddys Day' festivities month, and in keeping with sister organizations worldwide, the League in Israel invites all members, friends and families. "While this is the main reunion event of the year for Irish ex-pats from all over Israel, you don't have to be Irish to come and enjoy the great "Craic" "Caint" agus Ceol - Gaelic for traditional authentic Irish atmosphere, song and music," says the league's chairman Malcolm Gafson. "We look forward to extending to all a "Cead Mile Failte," the traditional Gaelic greeting of "One Hundred Thousand Welcomes." 'Celtic Synergy' top the bill, following their acclaimed appearance at the Murphy's Irish Music Festival and having recently returned from a successful tour of the US. The Trikotera Irish dance company will perform 'Riverdance' style and traditional modern Irish dance, with an appearance by Yair Vidoger performing his spectacular 'Celtic Fire Dance.' The Orit and Meni Irish dance duo will present a specially choreographed 'Welcome back from Ireland' routine. The event will also be an opportunity to support an adopted project by League member Dena Woolfe (nee Robinson) to fight the crippling disease of Familial Dysontonomia (FD). The evening will begin at 8:30 p.m. (Irish time). Donation: NIS 30. For those being driven home, special combination festive drink offers will be available at the event.
