Afghan police kill four suspected Taliban fighters
By JERUSALEM POST STAFF
Taliban fighters attacked a police compound in western Afghanistan, sparking a gunbattle that left four insurgents dead and six wounded, a local police chief said Tuesday.
Police sustained no casualties in the two-hour firelight late Monday in Farah province, said Gen. Abdul Rahman Sarjang, adding his men were outnumbered for much of the battle.
Farah, which borders Iran, and neighboring Helmand provinces have seen nearly daily battles between the Taliban and international forces in recent months.
