Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will discuss his nation's nuclear ambitions with Malaysian's prime minister during an official visit to this Southeast Asian country starting Wednesday, the foreign ministry said.
Ahmadinejad, who has faced intense international pressure to halt Iran's enrichment of uranium - considered a possible step in producing nuclear arms - was scheduled to arrive in Kuala Lumpur late Wednesday for his first trip here since taking office last June.
Tehran has insisted its program is aimed only at the peaceful use of nuclear technology.
Ahmadinejad is expected to hold talks Thursday with Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who currently chairs the 57-nation Organization of the Islamic Conference, the world's largest Muslim political grouping.
