Campbell visiting grandmother in the Bronx

Campbell was visiting her grandmother in the Bronx before going back to school to finish a medical assistance program, her mother, Jennifer Talbot, told CBS News.

Talbot said that Campbell lost critical time while waiting for the first responders, who took about 17 minutes to arrive. "Where are the police for our children that are down here?" she was quoted as saying by CBS.

Police are still investigating the shooting.
