Berlusconi asks minister with toon shirt to resign

Italian Premier Silvio Berlusconi asked for the resignation of a Cabinet minister who wore a T-shirt featuring the Prophet Muhammad cartoons that sparked violent protests around the world, the premier's office said early Saturday. Berlusconi asked for Reforms Minister Roberto Calderoli to quit at the same time that the Italian consulate in the Libyan city of Benghazi was set afire and besieged by protesters incensed at the cartoons. At least 10 people died. The riot also appeared to be in reaction to Calderoli's T-shirt.
