Nepal police said a bomb has exploded outside a Katmandu convention center Monday, where a special assembly will soon meet to talk about abolishing the country's centuries-old monarchy. No casualties or serious damage have been reported.
The blast was reported hours after authorities banned protests around King Gyanendra's palace and private residence in attempt to prevent any possibly violence ahead of the formal abolition.
