EU, Iranian negotiators discuss nuclear package

Negotiators from Iran and the European Union held a crucial round of talks Tuesday on a package of nuclear incentives offered last month _ even as officials in Tehran reiterated that they need clarification on the proposal before any formal response. "Now it's the Europeans' turn. That's to say: They need to clear up ambiguities to pave the way for us to respond quicker," Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi was quoted as saying by state-run television in Tehran. Asefi said Iran won't give a response at once to the package incentives designed to end the standoff caused by its nuclear program, citing the complexity of the proposals.
