Insurgents seize city housing Somalia's parliament

Islamic insurgents have taken over the city that houses Somalia's parliament, witnesses said Tuesday. Baidoa resident Ahmed Nurow said fighters loyal to the Shabab militia took over Baidoa late Monday after a brief clash with government militiamen. It is not clear if there were casualties. Nurow said the Shabab was in control of Baidoa's airport and parliament building. Resident Farah Omar said the fighters were calling for calm.
