Militant attack in Pakistan halts Afghan supplies

A government official said on Tuesday that militants have blown up a bridge in northwest Pakistan, temporarily cutting a major supply line for Western troops in Afghanistan. Hidayat Ullah said that the militants bombed the bridge early Tuesday in the Khyber Pass region. Much of the supplies for US and NATO troops in landlocked Afghanistan travel along the pass after being unloaded at the Pakistani port of Karachi. Militants are increasingly attacking the route to squeeze the USled mission in Afghanistan.
