Musharraf relinquishes army's top job to become civilian president

Pervez Musharraf stepped down Wednesday from his powerful post as Pakistan's military commander, a day before he was to be sworn in as a civilian president.
During a change of command in this garrison town near the capital, Islamabad, Musharraf relinquished his post by handing over his ceremonial baton to his successor Gen. Ashfaq Kayani.
