Musharraf tells security forces to deal firmly with rioters

Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf told his top security officials Saturday to take firm action against thousands of rioters rampaging through the streets in anger at the killing of opposition leader Benazir Bhutto, according to the state news agency. Speaking at a meeting that included the interior minister, army chief and heads of the security agencies, Musharraf said those looting and plundering "must be dealt with firmly and all measures be taken to ensure (the) safety and security of the people," the Associated Press of Pakistan reported.
