Security forces detained two suspected Kurdish rebels in Turkey's third-largest city and seized weapons and explosives, the state-run Anatolia news agency reported Sunday.
The suspected rebels were detained in the Aegean port city of Izmir, the agency said. Security forces seized 10 kilograms of plastic explosives, 15 hand grenades, two automatic rifles and two pistols. The report did not immediately provide further details.
On Tuesday, a suicide bombing outside a shopping mall in the Turkish capital of Ankara killed six people and injured dozens of others. The government blamed the attack on separatist Kurdish rebels, although the rebels have denied responsibility.
