Roadside bomb kills 6 NATO soldiers in Afghanistan

A roadside bomb tore through a NATO vehicle in southern Afghanistan on Wednesday, killing six soldiers and their Afghan interpreter, a NATO statement said. The attack took place in a volatile region of Kandahar province, Afghan police officials said. NATO did not release the soldiers' nationalities. The majority of troops in Kandahar are Canadian. In Canada, Defense Department spokeswoman Sarah Kavanagh said she that she was aware there had been an incident, but that she had no information yet.
