Saudi authorities on Tuesday beheaded a Saudi man convicted of killing a fellow national, the Interior Ministry announced. The ministry said in a statement, carried by the official Saudi Press Agency, that Falih bin Mohammed bin Musfir had fatally shot Said bin Lafi al-Harithi following a dispute. The report did not explain the nature of the dispute. The execution was carried out in the western city of Taif, it added. Saudi Arabia follows a strict interpretation of Islam under which those convicted of murder, drug trafficking, rape and armed robbery are executed in public with a sword.
