Suspected rebels detonated a bomb near a mail train in eastern Sri Lanka on Tuesday evening, the military said.
There were no immediate reports of casualties, military spokesman Brig. Udaya Nanayakkara said.
The attack took place about 8:30 p.m. near Kantale railway station, outside the eastern city of Trincomalee, when a claymore mine detonated near the train's engine, he said.
