Sweden: Dozens protest against Iranian FM visit

Dozens of protesters staged a loud demonstration Monday against Iran as it's foreign minister arrived for a visit to Sweden. About 100 demonstrators chanted slogans against the Iranian government outside the Swedish National Defence College, where Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki was to give a speech. Some protesters threw eggs at the building. Mottaki was also scheduled to meet Sweden's Deputy Prime Minister Maud Olofsson and Foreign Minister Carl Bildt. The visit angered some exiled Iranians who accused Teheran of human rights violations and called Sweden to break off all diplomatic relations. Press freedom groups in the Scandinavian country urged the Swedish government to use the visit to voice strong protests against restrictions on free speech in Iran.
