Tajikistan: Convicted Islamic terrorist gets 23 yrs.

A Tajik court has sentenced an alleged former Islamic opposition fighter who acknowledged training at terror camps in Afghanistan and Pakistan to 23 years in prison, officials said Tuesday. Ibragim Nasredinov, 31, was captured in Afghanistan last year by Tajik security officers working with Afghan colleagues, said Makhmadali Abdulkhakov, deputy chairman of the Khatlon regional court. He said the court found Nasredinov guilty Monday of illegal arms possession, manufacturing of explosives and murder. Nasredinov's lawyer, Odil Yorbekov, said his client pleaded guilty on all charges and acknowledged that between 1992 and 1998 he had undergone terror training at camps in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
