UK police arrest 2 terror suspects at Manchester Airport

Two men were arrested at Manchester Airport under Britain's terrorism laws late Thursday afternoon, police said. A third was arrested later in the evening in the northwest English town of Accrington. The pair arrested at the airport were from the Blackburn area, also in northwest England, Lancashire police said in a statement posted to their Web site. A spokesman for Lancashire police said all three men were in their 20s and identified them as being "Asian" - meaning that they were of Indian, Bangladeshi, or Pakistani ethnicity. He said he did not know whether they were British citizens, and spoke on condition of anonymity in line with force policy. The police's statement said the men's homes were being searched.
