US condemns attack on Moscow synagogue

The United States on Thursday condemned an attack on the Chabad synagogue in Moscow, in which eight people were injured and some required hospitalization, including one US citizen. State Department spokesman Sean McCormack denounced "this perfidious attack," which took place Wednesday, and said the United States "expresses its sympathy to the wounded and their families." He said the United States welcomed condemnations of the attack by the Russian government, "including its commitment to an investigation of this crime."
