Yachimovich: To save democracy, replace Netanyahu

Opposition chairwoman MK Shelly Yachimovich urged the heads of parties on Saturday to seek democracy by replacing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
"To save democracy and rule of law, it is urgent to replace Netanyahu," Yachimovich said. "An explicit commitment is needed from the parties to not recommend him [Netanyahu] as president, which unfortunately most of the parties have not done yet."
Yachimovich also warned against parties who will not pass the threshold in elections and will likely take votes and seats from larger parties.
"There are a number of parties that do not exceed the threshold and can cause serious damage to the bloc, even if all of them together will receive three seats," Yachimovich said. "Therefore, I expect anyone who has conscience and responsibility to see that if he is not the exceeding threshold, to give up, and not to compete at all, or to integrate into existing parties."
