In response to the recent conflict escalating in the Gaza Strip, ZIM Integrated Shipping Services Ltd. (ZIM), announced it has offered Israel all of its vessels, ships and infrastructure, with a primary commitment to serving the national needs of Israel during the war with Gaza.
Eli Glickman, President and CEO of ZIM, expressed solidarity with Israel and its citizens in a statement released last on Saturday night: "This morning, on Shabbat, during the holiday of Simchat Torah, a sudden war broke out against the State of Israel from the Gaza Strip, one of the most severe wars the country has ever faced. These events are profoundly painful and have resulted in a significant loss of life, numerous injuries, and what appears to be an unquantifiable number of captives, including soldiers and civilians.
"We are dealing with heartless murderers who indiscriminately kill civilians, children, and helpless infants. This event will undoubtedly bring great pain to all of us. Despite the immense pain, I am confident that we will overcome it. The terrorist organizations will pay a very heavy price for this unjustified attack."
Supporting the residents of the south and the IDF
Glickman urged ZIM employees to support the residents of the south and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), following the instructions of the Home Front Command for their safety. He emphasized the importance of personal and family resilience, as well as societal resilience, during these challenging times.
"Our hearts go out to the residents of the south who are under attack due to the severe situation the country is experiencing, as well as to all the citizens of the country who are concerned about the fate of their loved ones in the southern region. I am confident that we will recover, deliver a severe blow to the enemy, and overcome our wounds. This is the time for mutual support and unity. Only together will we strengthen."
