Following reports that Israelis whose homes were hit by Iranian missiles were only receiving a total of NIS 500 per day as a daily allowance, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich clarified on X/Twitter Tuesday that, in addition to the daily allowance, displaced Israelis will receive a full package of compensation.

This package, worth tens of thousands of shekels according to Smotrich, will include alternative housing or a hotel, food, household supplies, furniture, and the cost of transporting goods.

The state will also pay for the renovation or rebuilding of the home

Beyond that, until they receive these monetary advancements, they will receive an immediate grant of NIS 500 per person displaced, “just to reset before the advances.”

“The home front is part of the war, and we will accompany the evacuees down to the smallest detail,” Smotrich stressed.

The Jerusalem Post has reached out to several displaced Israelis for comment.

This is a developing story.
