The Israel Air Force (IAF) began a series of strikes on military targets in Iran on Sunday morning, the IDF announced.

Two F-5 fighter jets belonging to the Iranian Armed Forces at the Iranian Dezful Airport were struck by the IAF, the military said.

The announcement came after a dual Iranian missile barrage on Sunday morning, which involved direct hits in central and northern Israel, as well as major US strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, including Fordow.

Additionally, in early morning strikes, eight Iranian missile launchers were neutralized, including six launchers ready to immediately launch missiles toward Israeli territory, the military said.

The IDF also struck military infrastructure sites at the Isfahan airport in order to prevent the Iranian Air Force’s use of the military infrastructure, the military stated.

Further IAF stikes on Iran

On Saturday, approximately 20 IAF fighter jets struck dozens of military targets in Iran, following the direction of the IDF Intelligence Directorate, the militray said.

Among the targets struck were a military site containing components to produce explosive materials, weapons storage, production facilities, and Iranian aerial defense systems, the military added.

Iranian missile barrage directed toward Israel

The IDF had identified approximately 20 missiles fired from Iran towards central and northern Israel on Sunday morning.

Loud booms were heard across Israel, and Israel's emergency service, Magen David Adom, said they are en route to at least 10 crash sites.

At least 23 people have been reported wounded, with one in the Shfela area.

There have been initial reports of crashes in northern and central Israel, including in Haifa, causing extensive destruction to buildings.

The Iranian barrage toward Israel came after the US strike on Iranian nuclear facilities.

US President Donald Trump said that Iran's three main nuclear enrichment facilities, namely Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan, had been "completely and totally obliterated" in an address from the White House Saturday night.

In response, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps wrote on social media, "Now the war has begun for us."

This is a developing story.
