Hamas published a propaganda video of hostage Alon Ohel on Monday.
Ohel has been held in the Gaza Strip for 717 days, as of the video’s publication.
The publication of the footage follows an earlier post by Hamas in which the terror group released a photo of an unidentified hostage.
The Hostages and Missing Families Forum has requested that any footage or related media released by Hamas or Palestinian Islamic Jihad not be published without permission from the family.
Ohel’s parents, Idit and Kobi, said that the “video content constitutes psychological terror, and we ask that it not be shared.”
They said Monday evening that the video released by Hamas left them “shaking and in pain,” and that “Alon appears thin, distressed, and losing his vision.”
They demanded that eye doctors examine and treat Ohel as a condition for any negotiations or additional aid to Hamas, following previous reports that the hostage has lost vision in his right eye.
“The most important national message right now is bringing Alon and all the hostages home to their families,” they added.
Previous video of Ohel published just over two weeks prior
Hamas previously released a video over two weeks ago of Ohel with hostage Guy Gilboa-Dalal, with the terrorist group saying, “Time is running out.”
Ohel’s family then allowed the publication of one photo of Alon and asked the general public “not to participate in Hamas’s psychological terrorism, which primarily harms the family and friends, by refraining from broadcasting or sharing the full video.”
Serbia’s ambassador to the United States, Dragan Sutanovac, assured during an interview with Walla that his country is working with all its might to bring back home Ohel, who also holds Serbian citizenship.
