The Qatari prime minister and the Egyptian intelligence chief shared US President Donald Trump's Gaza plan with Hamas, an official briefed on the talks told Reuters on Monday.

Foreign Ministers of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, UAE, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, Qatar, and Egypt welcomed the plan in a joint statement posted to X/Twitter on Monday night.

"The ministers welcome the announcement by President Trump of his proposal to end the war, rebuild Gaza, prevent the displacement of the Palestinian people and advance a comprehensive peace, as well as his announcement that he will not allow for the annexation of the West Bank."

Hamas to review Trump's plan

Hamas negotiators told mediators they will review the plan "in good faith" and provide response, the official said.

"The published sections [of the plan] are closer to the Israeli view," a Hamas official told Al Jazeera.

The Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) chief says he considers the US-Israel announcement a "recipe to blow up the region."

"The Trump plan is unworkable and its goal is to corner Hamas and hold it accountable," a member of the Ansar Allah political bureau said in response to the plan. "The Trump plan aims to absorb the world's anger against 'Israel' and erode global solidarity with Palestine."
