Fighter jets scrambled to intercept and then escort a Wizz Air flight from London Luton to Ben-Gurion Airport on Sunday, due to concerns over a security incident, Israeli media reported.

According to N12 News, one of the passengers on the airplane received an unusual message that raised fears about an attempt to harm the aircraft.

Authorities believe that the passenger changed a WiFi account name to "terrorist" in Hebrew and Arabic and sent threatening messages to other passengers, N12 reported.

The suspect appears to be a minor, Walla noted, adding that a passenger tried to connect to WiFi, noticed the account name, and notified the crew.

Plane lands safely at Ben-Gurion Airport with no injuries or damage

The suspicion of a security incident has been lifted, and the plane has safely landed at Ben-Gurion Airport, the Israel Airports Authority confirmed.
