IDF Spokesperson Brigadier General Effie Defrin released a video message Friday in light of concerns about escalation with Iran, assuring that the military is "aware of the uncertainty and the tension felt by the public."
"The IDF is closely monitoring the situation in Iran and is alert and prepared to defend you," he said. "We are operating in full coordination with our partners with the aim of strengthening the defense."
No change in current guidelines
He emphasized that for now, there has been no change in the guidelines given by the Home Front Command, and that if something changes, he will "issue an alert accordingly."
He gave a reminder that the US embassy updated its travel warning to level 3, "reconsider travel." Meanwhile, Washington announced approval for non-essential US government employees and family members of American personnel stationed at US diplomatic missions to leave the country.
