The Council for Higher Education (CHE) on Saturday instructed the heads of academic institutions across Israel to suspend any activities that do not comply with Home Front Command guidelines, following major changes to the higher education system prompted by Operation Roaring Lion.

In further recommendations, the CHE advised institutions to transition to remote teaching in accordance with new security guidelines.

The Chair of the Planning and Budgeting Committee (PBC), Prof. Ami Moyal; the Deputy Chair of the CHE, Prof. Dudi Schwartz, and the Director General of the CHE and the PBC, Dr. Maya Logasi, are holding discussions with the presidents of academic institutions and the leadership of the National Union of Israeli Students.

The conversations aimed at strengthening ongoing coordination, assessing needs, and providing swift responses to issues requiring attention.
